Give up the soda and start drinking green tea

We all know how bad soda is for you, but what to drink? Water gets boring after a while and most drinks with flavor have a lot of sugar, artificial and other harmful ingredients.

You can drink it hot or cold, but you need to make your own. Just buying a store brand green tea loaded with sugar isn't going to help. Its great hot in the morning and you can keep a pitcher in the refrigerator for a healthy alternative to soda. We like to sweeten it with honey or agave nectar.

Here are just a few of the reported benefits of green tea:

Green tea is minimally processed which means its leaves are steamed and not fermented like most black teas. This also means there are more antioxidants in green tea.   

There are so many benefits in antioxidants.  Green tea has a particular antioxidant - EGCG - that seeks out free radicals in your body that can damage your DNA, and contribute to cancer and other medical conditions.

Green tea can be good for your complexion and may even help get rid of your hangover!  Research shows it may also boost your immunity and lower your blood sugar.
